Jul 1, 2022 By MarketDepth
Nio (NYSE: NIO), a Chinese EV manufacturer, delivered almost 13,000 vehicles in June, a 60% increase from the previous year. The novelty comes as Chinese automakers continue to recover from months of pandemic-related disruptions.
Delivered Almost 13000 Vehicles
The EV automaker delivered a total of 12.961 vehicles within the month of June. Overall the company shipped 8,612 premium smart electric SUVs, which include ES8s, ES6s and EC6s, as well as another 4,349 ET7s. The company managed to deliver 25,059 electric vehicles in the second quarter of 2022, a 14.4% year-over-year increase.
XPend Motors Outperforms
Nevertheless, Nio’s recent winnings weren’t enough to outperform its main competitors. XPeng Motors announced Friday that it had sold and delivered 15,295 vehicles in June, a 133% increase from the previous year. Furthermore, LiAuto reported that it had delivered 13,024 of its SUVs throughout the last month, a 69% jump in comparison to the previous year.
Though all of the automakers have experienced production issues amid Covid, Nio has felt it the most due to its factory locations. Nio’s Hefei factories were hit the hardest by the recent outbreaks. June was the first month it reached over 10,000 deliveries since December.
