Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) announced its acquisition of video game creator Night School Studio on Tuesday, September 28th.

Night School Studio becomes the first creator of non-mobile titles in the new Netflix video game portfolio. The studio is widely known for its critically acclaimed game, OXENFREE, a supernatural thriller. 

“We’re in the early stages of creating a great gaming experience for our members around the world. So we’re excited to announce today Night School Studio is joining Netflix. Like our shows and films, these games will all be included as part of your Netflix membership  — all with no ads and no in-app purchases. Stay tuned for more.”

Netflix had previously floated its desire to enter the gaming industry in its last quarterly earnings, stating “We view gaming as another new content category for us, similar to our expansion into original films, animation and unscripted TV.” 

Games Widely Available

Night School Studio games are available on Sony’s PlayStation, Microsoft’s Xbox, Nintendo Switch as well as PCs, according to Reuters.
