Navdeep Bains Joins CIBC as a Vice Chair for Global Investment Banking

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) today announced that former industry minister, the Honourable Navdeep Bains will join the company as a Vice Chair for Global Investment Banking. The former minister for innovation, science and industry will now focus on developing and fostering senior level client relationships and business development globally.

Mr. Bains started his career as a Financial Analyst, transitioning to federal politics in 2004, when he was first elected in a key Toronto suburb. Mr. Bains later became Mr. Trudeau’s lead minister on issues like telecommunications and foreign takeovers, and was part of the decision to block a Chinese bid for construction giant Aecon Group Inc in 2018.
