MLB Announces Capital One is the Official Banking Partner

Major League Baseball (MLB) announced that Capital One was now an official banking partner. Amid the agreement, the company will be the “official bank and credit card partner” of MLB, according to an announcement made Monday. Nevertheless, details regarding the deal have yet to be disclosed.

“Capital One’s partnership with MLB is the latest example of our commitment to our customers, who are passionate about sports and the teams they support. Through this partnership, we look forward to teaming up with MLB to not only provide our customers with amazing benefits, but also to expand our company-wide commitment to promoting and celebrating diversity, inclusion and belonging, inspiring fans of our national pastime in the process.”

As a perk, Capital One credit and debit cardholders will be rewarded a variety of MLB-related benefits and experiences during the season. These include exclusive tickets to special events and potential discounts for the MLB shop and MLB TV. Capital One rewards cardholders will be able to redeem the rewards for MLB tickets starting March 29th. 

Bank Can Use Teams in Ads

The bank will be able to use MLB and its 30 teams within its advertising campaigns, and will be a presenting sponsor for the World Series. The partnership will ultimately add to MLB’s sponsorship haul. Throughout 2021, MLB’s revenue shot up to about USD1.7 Billion, compared to the previous year’s USD1 Billion.
