Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) has released the Work Trend Index Special Report, “Technology Can Help Unlock a New Future for Frontline Workers,” and reported new features in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Viva that are designed to serve millions of frontline workers.

The Work Trend Index reports displays key insights that impact the follower segments of the workforce:

  • Frontline workers amidst the Great Reshuffle, as frontline workers cite better pay and benefits, work-life balance and flexibility as reasons for a potential job change.
  • Job opportunities in tech, where interest lies as a factor to aide in reducing workplace stress.
  • The potential to bridge tech and training gap, 46% of frontline workers feel pressured to adapt to new technology or fear losing their jobs as 55% say they have had to learn new technology immediately with no formal training or practice.  
  • 76% workers feel bonded to each other as 60% say their company should prioritize culture and communication from the top.  An additional 51% f those in nonmanagement positions on the frontline don’t feel valued as employees.
