Ford Motors Announces Partnership With Tesla For Charging Initiatives

Ford Motors (F:NASD) and Rival Tesla have partnered up to allow Ford owners access to 12,000 Tesla supercharging stations across U.S and Canada. Ford next-generation cars will include a Tesla charging plug to allow super charge access without an extra adapter.

The partnership will grant Ford owners access to the supercharging stations early next year. The Tesla plug will be implemented onto Ford EVs over the next 2-3 years. Ford is the first large automaker to partner with Tesla to be given access to there charging network. Tesla is the largest EV retailer but Ford came in second which helps bolster the cause for Electric vehicles.

Ford stock is down about 10% on the year but surged to end the week on the partnership news.
