CurationFoodsSaladrecall

Curation Foods has issued a recall of Curation Foods brand Kale Salad Blends and Eat Smart brand Chopped Salad Kits in Ontario. Though there have been no reports of any illnesses linked to the salads, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency had triggered the recall due to its tests on the food and is now conducting a food safety investigation.

Nationwide Recall

The salad kits also face a nationwide recall as the products were sold in Provinces other than Ontario, with best before dates of Aug. 24th, 2021.

Parent Company Unaffected

However, the company that owns Curation Foods, Landec Corporation, has so far seemed unaffected by the public recall, having instead gained over 2% in early morning trading on the NASDAQ exchange.

Dispose and Check for Symptoms

Food contaminated with listeria can cause symptoms that include nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness, and in severe cases, death. As such, the CFIA has advised anyone who has purchased any of the various salad kits affected  by the recall, should either throw out or return the product in order to avoid potential illness.
